In the News: ICE to deport wife of veteran Navy sergeant

On Tuesday (24), agents from the Immigration Department (ICE) notified Alejandra Juarez that she will be deported to Mexico within 9 days; despite continued efforts to keep her in the USA. She is married to veteran Navy sergeant Cuauhtemoc “Temo” Juarez, an infantryman who served in the Navy between 1995 and 1999, first in the 1st Battalion, 8th Navy Regiment.

“The United States has many policies in place to protect veterans and active officers and their families. It is absolutely and incredibly frustrating that these policies do not suit the wife of a decorated veteran who has served abroad multiple times,” said lawyer Chelsea Nowel.
